Duties and Responsibilities of a Linesman / Lineswoman

1. Know very well your responsibilities as linemen; be prompt with your court assignment

2. Eyes on the shuttle cock; Out or In depends on where the shuttle cock touches first. Pls wait for the shuttle cock to touch the floor before saying out or in.

3. You may not say anything when IN; but you should shout to the referee when it is OUT.

4. On service – the words to use are LONG SERVE, SHORT SERVE, WRONG COURT, OUT

5. Be objective; do not side with any team

6. Do not leave your post while the play is going on

7. PLAYERS should not say out or in; only the linemen should shout OUT.
