RULES AND REGULATIONS/MECHANICS

1. The badminton rules by IBF (International Badminton Federation) is used in this tournament. (Refer to Website. Be sure all players know the rules before the tournament).

2. A registration fee of P25 per player is paid to be used for prizes/trophies, rent of court, shuttle cock and other administrative expenses, if any.

3. Drawlots was done last Aug. 18, 2009 to establish Doubles Team.

4. The games to be played shall be ROUND-ROBIN (if time permits) wherein each team will play against all other teams in each Level. One point will be given to every game won. Each match is composed of 3 games.(best of 3 games). The top two teams with the most number of points will play in the championship, Level 1, and Level 2.

5. Default – 10minutes is allowed to wait for the players to appear in a game. If no players appear – 2 points will be given to the team present and no point to the absent team. However, if one player appears, two options – a) the player present may choose to play alone or b) the player present may declare a default and no game will be played.

6. All players are requested to officiate (referee) or be linemen/linewomen while games are being conducted. Please refer to your assignment. This is a one-day tournament only. Trophies will be given to each player of the Doubles Team -– Level 1 – Champion and Runner-up Level 2- Champion and Runner-up

7. All players must practice sportsmanship at all times. Courtesy is practiced in and out of the game. Neither heckling nor shouting is allowed. At the end of each match, members of losing team may approach the winning team to congratulate.

8. This tournament is being conducted mainly for fun. So everybody is expected to play well and enjoy the games. Do your best. Any dispute, even those not covered by the tournament rules, will be decided upon by the Tournament Committee. The committee’s decision is final and must be respected.

9. Each game will get corresponding playing time. The game will end either when you defeat your opponent or if the alloted time finishes first. In case the alloted time lapses, whoever has the higher score wins the game.
